About Sarah Ray, ACNS-BC

Sarah Ray, ACNS-BC, started with Cardio Texas in 2011, joining Dr. Otero in collaborative practice as a clinical nurse specialist in adult health with prescriptive authority. After earning her a bachelor degree in Biology from Bryn Mawr College, she moved back to her hometown to pursue her masters in nursing at the University of Texas at Austin. There, she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Honor Society of Nursing. In 2002, Sarah became certified as a CNS. Following graduation, Sarah spent several years in acute care nursing in the care of cardiac patients.

In addition to nursing, Sarah enjoys teaching. Prior to joining Cardio Texas, she was a Clinical Instructor in The University of Texas at Austin’s Alternate Entry Nursing Program. She has also served as adjunct faculty in the Austin Community College RN nursing program. Currently she serves as a frequent preceptor to nurses in St. David’s Medical Center nursing fellowship program.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, playing softball and reading.
