Matthew B. Stahlman, MD, FACC, FSCAI has practiced cardiology in Austin since 2006. He received a bachelor degree in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin with honors in 1992. Subsequently, he attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where he graduated at the top of his class and received the honor of becoming a Member of Alpha Omega Alpha (medical honor society). After completing an internship in Surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee, he then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern (Parkland Hospital) in Dallas Texas. Dr. Stahlman returned to Vanderbilt and completed his Cardiology training in both Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Stahlman currently practices general and interventional cardiology at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin. During his time in Austin, he has served as a Director of multiple area cardiac cath labs and on multiple executive, advisory, and peer review committees. Dr. Stahlman is distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is a member of the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society. Dr. Stahlman is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Stahlman’s clinical passion remains providing quality oriented and compassionate patient care. He specializes in cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for heart disease and stroke. He enjoys getting to know his patients in the office and assisting his patients throughout the spectrum of their care, including in the hospital setting.

Away from the practice, Dr. Stahlman enjoys outdoor activities, fishing, cooking, baking, and (most importantly) spending time with his wife and participating in his three son’s multiple activities
